How did the KKK start?
The first branch of the Ku Klux Klan was started by 6 ex-confederates in 1865. The first leader was Nathan Bedford Forrest. When it was created they had no intention to harm anyone. Soon the KKK spread to almost every southern state and created fear within the African Americans.
